Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Registered Nurse to support anaesthetics at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The role requires current AHPRA nursing registration and ability to work a 7‑day rotating roster. Eligibility for working rights in Australia is required.

Qualifications

• Has current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills.
• Demonstrates experience in Anaesthetics and teamwork within the intra-operative setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the environment and equipment for the patient.
• Prepare equipment for administering the anaesthetic.
• Assist with reception into the anaesthesia/operating room and establish rapport with the patient.
• Participate in Anaesthesia Check-in processes and safety checks.
• Communicate relevant patient information to the intra-operative team.
• Align with the anaesthetist on planned approach and equipment needs.
• Assist with patient preparation and monitoring, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Assist the anaesthetist during and after the procedure, including emergence and transfer.
