Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Completion of minimum of 4 years clinical experience in an accredited training position in Anaesthesia.
• Success in the Final Fellowship examination of the ANZCA OR equivalent overseas.
• Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and verbal, appropriate for an anaesthetist.
• Demonstrated ability to function harmoniously, efficiently and effectively as part of a high-performing team.
• Demonstrated capacity to work independently, and exercise initiative and judgment in prioritising time and resources.
• Commitment to scholarship, including learning and teaching, and an understanding of the clinical review process, audit and research in anaesthesia.
• An interest in a specific area of the specialty for further development.

Responsibilities

• To deliver high quality anaesthesia services to the patients of the Hunter New England Area, whilst undertaking continuing professional development activities within the aim of obtaining the Fellowship of Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. This is a great opportunity for fellow to become generalist within the expanding space of regional and rural anaesthetic departments.
