Job summary

Western Union in Sydney, Australia, invites a Senior Analyst, Quality Assurance to join the Compliance team on a 24-month fixed-term basis. This role supports AML compliance programs, policies and controls to minimize regulatory risk across the organization.

You will develop and enforce QA processes, review transactions and reports, provide feedback, and collaborate with operations, compliance and technology.

Qualifications

• Degree in commerce, business, law, finance, risk or compliance; CA qualification preferred
• 3+ years QA/quality assurance or operational risk in financial services/fintech/regulatory environment
• Solid understanding of AML/CTF obligations and AUSTRAC/APRA/ASIC regulations
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to provide actionable feedback
• Experience producing QA reports, trend analysis and process improvement recommendations
• Effective stakeholder collaboration with operations, compliance and technology teams
• Certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA) desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Develop and support the organisation's QA framework to meet regulatory requirements.
• Manage compliance requirements for assigned business units and agents.
• Support reporting to senior management and regulatory relationships.
• Review and improve internal controls via transaction analyses and compliance reviews.
• Provide follow-up on findings and communicate assessments to management.
• Contribute to design of improved workflows and controls.
