Job summary

Learning to Shine is a private Occupational Therapy practice in the NSW Southern Highlands, Moss Vale. We are seeking an Allied Health Assistant to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis, supporting therapists with paediatric and broader clientele while providing mentorship and flexibility for staff.

The role involves assisting with sessions, developing caseloads under supervision, preparing equipment, and contributing to progress notes.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or in Early Childhood/education settings.
• Experience in therapy settings or with equipment preparation and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Complete sessions organized by qualified therapists under OT supervision.
• Develop a caseload of clients under supervision.
• Prepare therapy equipment and tools.
• Assist with progress notes and documentation.

Allied Health Assistant - Occupational Therapy

Learning to Shine is a leading Private Occupational Therapy Practice, providing a service to People with Disability, the Aged and their families, in the NSW Southern Highlands since 2012. Over the last 13 years we have helped many families and their children to be“the best they can be”, while providing a paediatric service that caters for many different disorders or disabilities.

We are now providing services for all ages, children with an additional need, adults with a disability or older individuals needing aged care, so we are looking for an Occupational Therapy Allied Health Assistants seeking to join our team. We have a position in the Southern Highlands, based at Moss Vale. We are open to full-time or part-time work options, and offer flexibility for working parents and carers. Our strength is the high level of support and mentoring provided to our staff should they seek it.

Our practice size is small enough to support and care about those that join us, but large enough and with a reputation of making a difference that will ensure it is successful for many years to come.

The role:

• Completing sessions organised by qualified therapists.
• Developing a caseload of clients while working under the supervision of an OT
• Preparing therapy equipment and tools
• Assisting with progress notes and documentation.
• Maintaining a safe therapeutic environment
• Liaising with other members of the team and other professionals that relate to your caseload
• Certificate level qualification in Allied Health Assisting (can be in the process of acquiring)
• Experience working with children, such as in an Early Childhood or Education settings
• Recognise the importance of play in early childhood
• NDIS Workers Screening Check
• Current NSW Working with Children’s Check
• Current Australian Driver’s licence and own vehicle
• Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• University Students currently working in a related field are welcomed
• School Leavers with a passion for working with children are eligible to apply
