Job description
Allied Health Assistant

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide therapy to individual clients as delegated or under supervision of Allied Health Professionals
  • Complete standardized assessments as delegated and within your competence level
  • Conduct group therapy programs under the guidance of Allied Health Professionals, monitoring client responses and adjusting programs to meet client needs
  • Follow therapist directions, provide timely feedback on interventions, and accurately record clinical notes
  • Maintain equipment by performing safety checks, organizing maintenance, monitoring client loans, and ensuring appropriate invoicing
  • Monitor and order clinical supplies and equipment, sourcing suppliers and specialists items as needed
  • Provide administrative support such as maintaining client education materials, treatment room supplies, patient area tidiness, statistics, and audits
  • Complete Allied Health Assistant Core Competencies within first six months and participate in continuing education
About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of client centred care and community health principles
  • Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to relate comfortably to a wide range of clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to document relevant assessments and evaluate interventions
  • The ability to be self-directed and work independently
  • Working in a large and complex healthcare system (desirable)
