Job summary

BGIS Technical Services is seeking a Plumber to support critical airport facilities at Melbourne Airport, Victoria. This permanent, full-time, on-site role delivers preventative and reactive plumbing maintenance while supporting operational continuity and rapid incident response.

From day one, you'll be set up with the tools and support needed to deliver high-quality technical services in a fast-paced, critical environment, working alongside Facilities Managers and other trades to ensure safety

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Plumber.
• Current plumber's licence desirable.
• Experience maintaining plumbing systems in commercial/industrial environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Experience using CMMS systems such as Maximo or similar.
• WH&S understanding and plumbing safety compliance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment with competing priorities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Aviation/critical infrastructure experience highly regarded.
• ASIC clearance desirable.
• Full working rights in Australia essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver preventative and corrective maintenance across plumbing systems and site assets.
• Diagnose plumbing faults and repair to restore asset functionality.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and urgent faults within required response times.
• Support emergency response and critical incident management as required.
• Complete work orders accurately in CMMS with time, materials, and completion details.
• Ensure works are documented, categorized, and closed out per requirements.
• Support minor works, replacements, upgrades, and asset improvements.
• Follow safe systems of work including permits, isolation procedures, SWMS, and site safety requirements.
• Collaborate with Facilities Managers, FM Hub Coordinators, subcontractors and other trades to minimise disruption.
