Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking Freight Ground Crew at Mascot Airport to handle diverse freight tasks within QGS Freight. You will move freight for Domestic and International routes, operate forklifts and related equipment, and ensure accurate documentation in the Warehouse System (iCargo).

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and opportunities to develop skills across a busy airport environment, with training and career progression paths available.

Qualifications

• A current and valid provisional or full state or territory driver's license.
• A current and valid forklift license or willing to obtain at your own expense.
• Ability to repetitively lift items up to 32 kgs in weight.
• Ability to work all shifts in a 24/h, 7 day week, rotating roster.
• Must pass a pre-employment medical (Qantas funded).
• Previous forklift experience in a warehouse is preferred.
• Recent manual handling or physical role experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
• Commitment to safety and WHS guidelines at all times.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain a positive attitude.
• Care and responsibility for customers’ freight.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from aircraft.
• Operate forklifts, tugs and heavy machinery.
• Lodge freight documents into the Warehouse System (iCargo).
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to expand knowledge and career progression.
