Job summary

Melbourne Airport is seeking an experienced Airfield Planning Manager to join our Planning team. You will shape long-term airfield development strategy, maintain infrastructure plans, and assess capacity requirements over a 5–20 year horizon.

You will work with Aviation Operations, planners and major projects to provide specialist input, evaluate options, and ensure decisions align with future growth and strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in airfield or aviation infrastructure planning.
• Ability to develop planning forecasts and development options.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience with master plans and major development plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead airfield planning activities to support future aviation growth and capacity.
• Develop planning assumptions, demand forecasts, and staged development strategies.
• Provide input into Airport Master Plan and Major Development Plans.
• Prepare strategic briefs, functional requirements, and development options.
• Collaborate with project/design teams to ensure operational requirements and capacity.
• Provide technical advice on airport planning standards and regulations.
• Build relationships with stakeholders including airlines, regulators, and partners.
• Manage specialist planning studies and consultancy inputs.
