Job summary

Jetstar Airways is seeking a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to deliver high-quality maintenance and rectification services across our aircraft fleet. You’ll work under the Safety Management System, ensuring reliability and service excellence while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager, you will perform on- time maintenance across ports, including international locations, and oversee quality control and aircraft presentation

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in aviation maintenance (CASA/EASA/CAANZ/UKCAA) or equivalent.

Your new role as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) will see you delivering high-quality maintenance and rectification services while ensuring strict adherence to WHS and Quality policies and procedures. You’ll work closely with specialist teams, applying excellent engineering standards built on a foundation of safety, reliability, and service.

Reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Operations Manager, you will carry out maintenance on company aircraft, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time. You’ll oversee quality control for aircraft presentation upon completion of maintenance and prior to release. Compliance with Jetstar’s Safety Management System, training, and regulatory requirements is essential. This role also requires flexibility to work at other ports, including international locations, and to build strong working relationships with contractors and external service providers.

We’re On The Hunt For Someone Who
  • Has completed Certificate IV in Aeroskills, has a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) report in progress, and/or holds an equivalent trade qualification preferably under CASA/EASA/CAANZ/UKCAA regulations in one of the following streams: Mechanical, Avionics, Structures
  • Experience and/or type ratings with the following aircraft types: A320, A321 and/or B787 (desirable)
  • At least 5 years post-apprenticeship Maintenance experience – all ports
  • Has excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and others
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Has a proven commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Has proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders; and
  • Holds a valid driving license and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers License
  • Willing and able to hold a Qantas Group-issued ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) including a full international criminal clearance
  • Willing and able to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Medical test prior to commencement
