Job summary

Jetstar Airways Engineering & Maintenance is seeking qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) in Australia for full-time, permanent roles at multiple ports. You will deliver high-quality maintenance and rectification while upholding WHS and quality policies.

Flexible 4 on/4 off roster and cross-port work including international locations are part of the role. Candidates must hold Certificate IV in Aeroskills or an equivalent trade qualification under CASA/EASA/CAANZ/UKCAA, with 5+ years

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills or equivalent trade qualification (CASA/EASA/CAANZ/UKCAA)
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) report in progress
  • At least 5 years post-apprenticeship maintenance experience – all ports
  • Valid driving license and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers License
  • Willingness to obtain Qantas Group ASIC and pass a pre-employment medical

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality maintenance and rectification services while complying with WHS and Quality policies
  • Carry out maintenance on company aircraft and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Oversee quality control for aircraft presentation prior to release
  • Coordinate with specialist teams and external service providers; comply with Safety Management System and regulatory requirements

Ready for your next adventure? Your new role as anAircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) will see you delivering high-quality maintenance and rectification services while ensuring strict adherence to WHS and Quality policies and procedures. You’ll work closely with specialist teams, applying excellent engineering standards built on a foundation of safety, reliability, and service.

Reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Operations Manager, you will carry out maintenance on company aircraft, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time. You’ll oversee quality control for aircraft presentation upon completion of maintenance and prior to release. Compliance with Jetstar’s Safety Management System, training, and regulatory requirements is essential. This role also requires flexibility to work at other ports, including international locations, and to build strong working relationships with contractors and external service providers.

We’re on the hunt for someone who:

  • Has completed Certificate IV in Aeroskills, has a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) report in progress, and/or holds an equivalent trade qualification preferably under CASA/EASA/CAANZ/UKCAA regulations in one of the following streams: Mechanical, Avionics, Structures
  • Experience and/or type ratings with the following aircraft types: A320, A321 and/or B787 (desirable)
  • At least 5 years post-apprenticeship Maintenance experience – all ports
  • Has excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and others
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Has a proven commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Has proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders; and
  • Holds a valid driving license and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers License
  • Willing and able to hold a Qantas Group-issued ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) including a full international criminal clearance
  • Willing and able to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Medical test prior to commencement

Remuneration on offer: All Jetstar Engineers in Australia are paid under the Jetstar Airways Engineering & Maintenance Enterprise Agreement 2023 which can be referenced HERE.

Please note that this opportunity is only available to qualified aircraft engineers/technicians that carry a trade aircraft technician qualification.While sponsorship can be considered, priority will be given to candidates with full, unrestricted work rights in Australia or New Zealand.
