Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Aircraft Dispatcher to oversee flight planning and operational control for a fleet operating out of Queenstown. You will monitor weather, calculate fuel, plan routes, and support flight crews to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The ideal candidate holds an Aircraft Dispatcher license or equivalent, has 2–3 years in flight planning, and is proficient with flight planning software and ATC procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Aircraft Dispatcher license or Flight Operations Officer certification is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in flight planning or operational control in an airline environment.
• Strong knowledge of aviation meteorology, aerodynamics, and navigation.
• Familiarity with air traffic control procedures and SA-CARs Part 121/135.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Proficiency with flight planning software and comms systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare flight schedules, routes, altitudes, and timings.
• Monitor real-time flight progress, weather, and ATC information.
• Calculate and verify fuel loads with safety margins.
• Issue flight plans and operational information to crews before departure.
• Coordinate with ATC, maintenance, and ops teams to handle disruptions.
• Maintain accurate flight logs and records.
