Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking an AI Strategy & Solutions Lead to shape and deliver a differentiated AI strategy for a major defence customer. You will work with capture, proposal and delivery teams to translate emerging AI, automation and analytics trends into practical, scalable solutions that can be implemented at scale.

You will guide cross-functional teams, balance differentiation with feasible delivery, and help transition from solution design to a live delivery program on award.

The Opportunity

As the AI Strategy & Solutions Lead, you’ll help shape the AI strategy behind a major customer solution, working with the bid team through capture and proposal before transitioning into a key delivery leadership role post-award.

• Shape a compelling AI, GenAI, automation and analytics strategy that differentiates our solution and supports a successful customer outcome.
• Translate emerging technology, market developments and industry insight into practical solutions, accelerators and approaches that can be implemented at scale.
• Work across capture, proposal development and customer engagement to rapidly develop and refine innovative solutions in response to customer needs.
• Provide continuity from solution design through to implementation, helping lead the transition into delivery and ensuring the proposed approach can be put into practice.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings judgement, curiosity and a collaborative approach to work that matters.

You’ll bring a practical understanding of the rapidly evolving AI landscape, with the ability to turn new ideas and technologies into credible, differentiated customer solutions.

Essential

• Deep knowledge of AI, generative AI, automation, analytics and emerging technology trends, and how they can be applied to real customer challenges.
• Current knowledge of the AI market, including the capabilities and approaches being brought to market by hyperscalers, technology vendors and other leading providers.
• Experience developing innovative technology solutions that balance differentiation with practical implementation and delivery considerations.
• Ability to work effectively across capture, proposal, customer engagement and delivery environments, translating between strategic, technical and business perspectives.
• Capability to challenge established approaches constructively and turn ideas into clear, achievable solutions and delivery pathways.

Advantageous

• Experience taking AI or emerging technology solutions from strategy and solution design through to implementation and delivery.
• Experience developing reusable AI accelerators, solution patterns or industry‑specific approaches that improve customer outcomes.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian citizen and hold at least a Baseline clearance, ideally NV1 or greater.

Certain roles may be subject International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements which may limit persons who hold dual nationality with certain proscribed countries from accessing material, or in the case of dual Australian‑U.S citizens, may require the candidate to obtain a U.S. Persons Abroad authorisation from the U.S DDTC.
