Job description

Would you like to completely transform the hospitality industry?

Would you like to work with the biggest and fastest growing collection of data to have the biggest positive impact you can on the industry we all love?

Would you like to be at the forefront of not only using market-leading AI tools, but delivering novel AI solutions that actually create change and commercial benefits to an industry that desperately needs it?

If that's you, come and work for Ordermentum.

About Us

At Ordermentum, our purpose is to create a more sustainable food and beverage industry, by helping venues and suppliers trade smarter. Since launching in 2014, we've grown a massive network of 46k of your favourite cafes, restaurants, and bars (over half the venues in the country!) ordering with 1,000 local, wholesale suppliers.

After a closed Beta through 2024, we launched Omni, our first major AI product that has had an immediate impact helping supplier businesses process off-platform orders automatically - saving customers 30+ hours monthly with 80% reduction in manual data entry. Following this success, we've decided to invest and hire more of the right people to ideate, prioritise, prototype and deliver our next wave of AI products and transform how the entire Australian hospitality industry operates. That’s where you come in.

The role

The art and science of Product Management is changing dramatically in the GenAI era. At Ordermentum, we're not looking for someone to run the same playbooks product teams have used for the last decade. We're looking for a builder, excited to help us evolve into an AI-native product organisation - someone with enough range across product, design, and engineering to invent and ship incredible new customer experiences powered by AI.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead AI projects for Ordermentum - starting with a set of ideas we’ve prepared, then identifying and presenting the next best AI opportunities to experiment with
  • Own the full product lifecycle from research to market, using AI-powered methods for tasks like research synthesis, prototyping, and evaluation
  • Partner with data science and engineering teams to build predictive models and recommendation systems using our rich commerce dataset
  • Design AI model evaluation frameworks for performance, accuracy, and safety
  • Be hands-on with AI tools and help evolve our tooling strategy - we're currently using Claude Code, Copilot, Granola, and others
  • Run weekly rapid testing and iteration cycles with design, data, engineering, and go-to-market teams
  • Own and validate customer value and business viability at every stage

Required experience and skills

  • 4+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in B2B SaaS, Fintech, or marketplace products
  • Proven track record shipping web and mobile apps in agile environments with cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and AI/ML technologies: NLP, document processing, recommendation systems
  • Experience managing probabilistic systems and non-deterministic outputs
  • Pragmatic approach - comfortable with ambiguity, bias to ship, rapid iteration over perfection
  • Product analytics tools (e.g. Mixpanel) and basic SQL knowledge (e.g. Databricks)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Great attitude toward urgency, risk, and uncertainty with a positive, can-do mindset - we're a small team that loves seeing each other win

Nice-to-Have

  • Passionate about food, coffee, or hospitality with knowledge of venue operations or small business dynamics
  • Experience with supply chain, ordering systems, or marketplace dynamics
  • Product marketing, UX writing, and design foundations - copywriting, growth metrics, pricing, clear product copy, and basic design principles
  • Understanding of API design, system integration, and platform architecture
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices
  • Familiarity with modern AI tools and development workflows

What you get

  • Attractive salary package with Employee Share Option Plan
  • Awesome benefits which include 4 extra days off a year, annual wellness allowance, learner budget access, time off on your bday and lots of yum treats
  • Work with Australia's richest B2B commerce dataset - direct impact helping thousands of small businesses across 46k+ venues and 1k+ suppliers save time and operate more efficiently
  • Join a bright, capable team of "hospo experts and hospo lovers" tackling meaningful industry problems from our great Surry Hills office (surrounded by excellent cafes)
  • Flexible hybrid working - 3 days working shoulder-to-shoulder with your team to maximise impact
