Job summary

Mathspace is seeking an AI Product Engineer to lead the development of intelligent, AI-powered learning experiences. You will work on LLM-driven features, prompts, and evaluation frameworks to deliver real-time tutoring-style support at scale for students and teachers worldwide.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI capabilities with educational values and pedagogy while shaping our AI infrastructure and LLMOps practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product-focused full stack or backend engineering.
• Proficiency in React/TypeScript, Python, GraphQL.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-powered applications in production.
• Familiarity with RAG, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and LLMOps.
• Strong product intuition and user empathy in educational contexts.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building AI-powered learning experiences that integrate LLMs into Mathspace’s student and teacher-facing apps.
• Prototyping, testing, and deploying LLM-based features, such as adaptive hints and feedback.
• Working across the stack using React, TypeScript, Python and GraphQL.
• Experimenting with prompting, RAG, vector search, and fine-tuning strategies.
• Collaborating with curriculum and pedagogy teams to ensure pedagogical soundness.
• Contributing to AI infra and LLMOps pipelines and observability tools.
• Thinking creatively about what LLMs should and shouldn't do in education.
