Partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, Assurance and Cyber as well as front line AI, Technology, Product and Data teams, the team also helps manage digital and technology risks and support compliance across the Group.

  • AI governance and guardrails: develop and continuously improve AI governance policies, frameworks, standards, controls and risk mitigation approaches across Corporate Office, OneDigital and key Group initiatives

  • Risk oversight and compliance: lead AI risk assessments, assurance activities and governance forums, including chairing the AI Governance Working Group, to support safe, lawful and responsible AI adoption

  • Stakeholder partnership and enablement: provide practical guidance, training and thought leadership that helps teams adopt AI responsibly while creating commercial value

  • Group influence and external engagement: support Group-wide AI governance initiatives, monitor emerging regulation and industry developments, and help shape Wesfarmers' approach to responsible AI

  • Risk and assurance: experience assessing AI risks, evaluating controls and supporting assurance or compliance activities

  • AI regulation and responsible AI: knowledge of AI regulatory frameworks, standards and responsible AI practices, with the ability to translate requirements into practical guidance

  • Strategic influence: confidence advising senior leaders and building alignment across technical, risk and business stakeholders

  • Capability and communication: ability to develop practical guidance, training and governance artefacts for both technical and non-technical audiences
