Job summary

Quantium in Australia is seeking an experienced engineering leader to scale AI delivery for major enterprises. Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you’ll lead a growing AI engineering team and shape delivery approaches across client engagements.

This role blends engineering leadership with enterprise consulting, coaching engineers and providing technical judgement to turn ambitious AI strategies into production‑ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in consulting, professional services or similarly client-facing engineering environments.
• Ability to build credibility with senior technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong technical judgement across modern AI and engineering and ability to move between strategic context and technical detail.
• A first-principles mindset, comfortable adapting approach as client needs evolve.
• Track record of building capability beyond individual projects, establishing engineering practices or reusable patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of around 10 Engineers and Leads, coaching and developing people while building the leadership capability needed to scale.
• Guide complex AI transformation engagements, helping clients move from ambiguous problems and ambitious strategies to pragmatic, executable engineering solutions.
• Represent Quantium's engineering capability with senior clients, bringing technical credibility, sound judgement and clear communication to complex business and engineering conversations.
• Build repeatable consulting engineering capability, turning lessons and patterns from engagements into methodologies, playbooks and practices.
• Provide technical and architectural judgement where it matters, helping teams navigate difficult decisions across AI, data, platform and application engineering.
• Balance client delivery with longer-term capability building, maintaining a high engineering bar while continuously improving how our teams work.
