As the AI Engineering Lead in our business you will design, develop, deploy and support secure, scalable and responsible AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.

The role combines software engineering, machine learning, generative AI and automation to build AI products, Co-pilots agents and intelligent workflows. Working across business and technology teams, the AI Engineer translates priority opportunities into production-ready solutions and supports adoption, monitoring and continuous improvement across the AI lifecycle.

• Design, build, test and deploy AI, machine learning and generative AI solutions aligned to business priorities and approved architecture.
• Develop Co-pilot, AI assistants, agents and intelligent automation that improve customer and employee outcomes, productivity and decision‑making.
• Translate business problems into practical AI use cases, technical requirements, solution designs and delivery plans.
• Build retrieval‑augmented generation solutions, prompt and orchestration patterns, APIs and integrations with enterprise applications and data platforms.
• Partner with Data Engineering to source, prepare and manage reliable data for AI solutions, including appropriate quality, access and lineage controls.
• Apply software engineering, DevOps and MLOps practices including version control, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, observability and support documentation.
• Work with Cyber Security, Privacy, Risk and AI Governance stakeholders to ensure solutions meet organisational policies, standards and regulatory obligations.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering AI, machine learning or generative AI solutions into production.
• Strong Python and software engineering skills, including APIs, automated testing, source control and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with cloud AI platforms and services. Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Co‑pilot Studio or comparable platforms is highly regarded.
• Experience with large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation, vector search, agent orchestration and evaluation techniques.
• Understanding of modern data platforms, data pipelines, security, identity, privacy and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of MLOps, model and application monitoring, observability, performance optimisation and cost management.
• Working knowledge of responsible AI, AI risk management and controls across the solution lifecycle.
• Experience with Snowflake Cortex AI or similar enterprise data and AI capabilities is desirable.
• Experience working in regulated or complex enterprise environments is desirable.
