AMP in Melbourne, VIC is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to embed AI across the North platform, moving from experimentation to scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. How you’ll make an impact

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how AI is embedded across the North platform, moving from experimentation to scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. You will design and deliver AI capabilities that transform core business processes, enhance customer and adviser experiences and unlock measurable value across the organisation. Working at the intersection of platform engineering, data and emerging AI technologies, you will help industrialise solutions across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and aligned with long-term architectural strategy.

You will partner closely with engineering teams, architects and business stakeholders to bring AI use cases to life, translating complex requirements into practical, high-impact solutions. As a hands‑on technical expert, you will contribute to innovation initiatives, validate emerging tools and approaches, and champion AI adoption across the wider team. Your work will directly influence how the organisation leverages Generative AI and Agentic AI to drive efficiency, innovation, and better outcomes for customers.

What you’ll bring to the role

You are a seasoned engineer with deep experience delivering AI and machine learning solutions in complex, enterprise environments. You bring strong technical expertise across the AI/ML lifecycle, from data engineering and model development through to deployment and optimisation in production environments. You are highly proficient in Python and comfortable working with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Databricks, leveraging tools such as SageMaker or Azure ML to build scalable AI solutions.

You have hands‑on experience with Generative AI, NLP and emerging techniques such as Retrieval‑Augmented Generation and Agentic AI frameworks, coupled with a strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, distributed systems and DevOps practices. Beyond technical capability, you bring a collaborative mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights. You thrive in fast‑paced, Agile environments, take ownership of outcomes, and are passionate about driving innovation while ensuring responsible and compliant use of AI technologies
