Job summary

Helia is Australia’s first Lenders Mortgage Insurance provider, embarking on an AI enablement leadership role in Sydney. The AI Enablement Leader will drive adoption, establish governance, and build capabilities across the business under the Director of AI & Data.

The role is a maximum-term contract for 12 months, located in North Sydney, and requires guiding teams on responsible AI use with measurable value delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience across AI, data, digital or related disciplines.
• Experience driving technology adoption or enablement at scale.
• Strong understanding of modern AI tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise AI enablement initiatives and translate strategy into practical plans and support.
• Drive adoption of AI capabilities across the organisation and deliver measurable value.

Role Overview

As our AI Enablement Leader, you’ll drive the adoption and effective use of AI across Helia, helping our people safely and productively embed AI into the way they work. Working under the direction of the Director of AI & Data, you’ll turn our AI enablement strategy into practical action through the right tools, frameworks, guardrails and support. You’ll work closely with leaders and teams across the business to build AI capability, identify valuable use cases and ensure adoption is responsible, sustainable and delivering real value. This is a maximum-term contract opportunity for 12months.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of enterprise AI enablement initiatives, translating strategy into practical plans, tools and support models.


• Drive adoption of AI capabilities across the organisation, ensuring initiatives align with business priorities and deliver measurable value.


• Establish and operate citizen development frameworks, guardrails and usage guidelines that enable safe and responsible AI adoption.


• Build organisational AI capability through training, coaching, playbooks and reusable resources, partnering with Learning & Development where appropriate.


• Act as a digital coach to business teams and senior leaders, helping them confidently and responsibly apply AI in their day‑to‑day work.


• Help teams identify and shape valuable AI usecases, providing guidance on feasibility, tooling and delivery approaches.


• Own the business‑facing operation and adoption of enterprise AI tools, including enterprise ChatGPT, partnering with platform and engineering teams to continually improve the end‑user experience.


• Track AI adoption, usage and value realisation, using insights to continually improve our enablement approach.


• Act as a key connection between business, platform and governance teams, clearly communicating AI capabilities, limitations and best practices.


• Lead and develop the AI Enablement function, setting clear priorities and fostering a culture of experimentation, learning and responsible AI use.

What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years’ experience across AI, data, digital or related disciplines, with demonstrated experience driving technology adoption or enablement at scale.


• Strong understanding of modern AI tools and platforms, including LLMs, copilots and related AI capabilities.


• Experience designing or operating citizen development, self‑service or technology enablement frameworks.


• Strong stakeholder engagement and change management experience, with the ability to build relationships and influence across different levels of an organisation.


• Demonstrated people leadership experience, with the ability to lead, develop and support a high‑performing team.


• Ability to translate technical AI capabilities into practical, valuable business applications.


• Excellent communication, coaching and facilitation skills, with the ability to make complex AI concepts accessible to a broad audience.
