Job summary

Jobtailor in Australia is seeking a senior architect to lead AI-enabled infrastructure and solution design. You will own target architectures, security, and compliance across complex environments, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to translate operational needs into production-ready AI capabilities.

The role requires NDV2 readiness, cloud experience, and leadership across multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical systems with robust governance and security.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship is required.
• Minimum NV1 security clearance is required; ability to obtain NV2 clearance.
• Demonstrated experience as Solution/Systems/Platform/Enterprise Architect in complex tech environments.
• Experience designing and implementing AI, ML or Generative AI solutions.
• Experience applying AI governance and responsible AI practices at enterprise level.
• Ability to develop solution architectures, roadmaps, and infrastructure designs.
• Experience across cloud platforms, systems integration, data ecosystems and cyber security.
• Capability to lead multidisciplinary teams across projects.

• Define target architecture, application design and infrastructure Bill of Materials (BOM)


• Ensure solutions are secure, resilient and operationally ready


• Partner with stakeholders, engineers and technical specialists to translate operational requirements into AI-enabled outcomes


• Provide technical leadership throughout implementation


• Guide build, integration, assurance and deployment activities


• Shape the technical vision for a strategic AI capability from concept through production deployment


• Help integrate secure, scalable and operationally effective AI capabilities into mission-critical systems

Requirements

• Australian citizenship


• Minimum NV1 security clearance


• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain an NV2 clearance


• Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect, Systems Architect, Platform Architect or Enterprise Architect within complex technology environments


• Experience designing and implementing AI, machine learning or generative AI solutions


• Experience applying AI governance, assurance and responsible AI practices within enterprise or mission-critical environments


• Ability to develop solution architectures, technical roadmaps and infrastructure designs


• Experience across cloud platforms, application architecture, systems integration, data ecosystems and cyber security


• Capability to provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams


• Applicants may need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements


• Advantageous: experience within Defence, national security, intelligence or other mission-critical environments


• Advantageous: experience in secure, regulated or classified environments


• Advantageous: knowledge of MLOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD and modern software delivery practices


• Advantageous: experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge services, intelligent search or related AI technologies


• Advantageous: experience supporting technology transformation initiatives from concept through operational handover
