Job summary

Software at Scale is seeking an AI-empowered Senior Data AI Engineer in Sydney to design and scale data foundations for advanced AI systems. You will independently source data assets, build robust enterprise data models, and bridge raw data engineering with data science.

You will own data architectures aligned with strategic business priorities, applying statistical rigor to solve complex enterprise problems and leveraging Claude Code and GenAI tooling to accelerate transformations and code

Qualifications

• Proven experience building enterprise data models that enable AI.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with modern ELT workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks in large-scale deployments.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical catalyst to source and integrate data assets for AI initiatives.
• Design high-impact enterprise data models aligned with business priorities.
• Architect large-scale data platforms using Snowflake or Databricks.
• Apply statistics to validate data and support ML workloads.
• Leverage Claude Code and GenAI tools to accelerate data engineering workflows.
• Build robust ELT pipelines and orchestration with dbt and Airflow.
• Implement data governance and quality monitoring across data products.
