Qualifications

• Relevant degree in biological, agricultural, environmental, data or imaging science.
• Experience planning and conducting laboratory or field research with experimental design, data collection and analysis.
• Ability to manage image-based or sensor-based datasets with metadata and records.
• Ability to identify and resolve experimental, field or data-quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop original and adapted experimental methods, equipment or software under general direction.
• Perform tasks with high degree of specialisation.
• Use initiative to explore new approaches for experimental or technological needs.
• Plan and conduct lab, packhouse and field activities for optical pest detection and surveillance.
• Develop data-management protocols for reliable image-based and field datasets.
• Analyse data to evaluate pest-detection technologies and AI-enabled workflows.
