Job summary

Talent International is partnering with a leading Australian enterprise to recruit an experienced Java API Engineer – AI & Test Automation for an exciting technology transformation program.

This role blends Java/Spring Boot with AI coding agents to test, maintain and upgrade APIs across a large enterprise API environment. You will work with senior engineers and leadership to implement intelligent testing capabilities and modern engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents to generate or maintain tests on production code.
• Strong commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Proven expertise in automated API testing, including unit, integration, contract and regression testing.
• Experience with testing tools such as TestKube, WireMock, Postman or Playwright.
• Strong understanding of Maven or Gradle, Git, CI/CD pipelines and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-powered automated API tests using coding agents.
• Maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices and support upgrades.
• Enhance unit, integration, contract and regression tests for APIs.
• Improve testing pipelines and CI/CD automation.
• Resolve build and testing issues and dependency conflicts.
• Develop reusable testing frameworks and automation patterns.
• Collaborate with engineers on AI-assisted development practices.
