Job summary

Talent is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to design, build and operate AI/ML environments across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid stacks within a major Australian Government program.

You will develop software, APIs and automation to support AI workloads, build deployment pipelines, and ensure secure, scalable platform operations. This role requires hands-on AI engineering experience, strong Kubernetes skills, and cloud experience with AWS/Azure.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AI engineering experience building and operating AI/ML environments.
• Strong Kubernetes and container experience with secure deployment and monitoring.
• Practical AWS and Azure experience, ideally both, and cloud AI services.
• Python, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with MLOps, model serving and generative AI tools.
• Knowledge of Linux, networking, APIs and security in complex environments.
• Clear communication and ability to guide technical decisions; IT/CS/AI qualifications will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve AI/ML environments across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid stacks.
• Develop software, APIs, and automation to support AI workloads and platform ops.
• Create deployment pipelines and reusable infrastructure via code.
• Support model training, deployment, monitoring, and performance.
• Apply security controls across containers, networks, data, and delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and support production releases.
• Collaborate with technical teams to translate requirements into solutions.
