Optus in Sydney is seeking an AI Automation Solution Lead to shape how AI and automation transform Optus operations. You will design and deliver secure, scalable AI-powered solutions across our OSS environment to improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer outcomes.

As the AI Automation Solution Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how AI and automation transform Optus operations. Working across our OSS environment, you will design and deliver secure, scalable, and reusable AI-powered solutions that improve operational efficiency, decision-making, and customer outcomes. Lead the discovery, design, and delivery of AI-enabled automation solutions that improve operational workflows, intelligence, and service outcomes across OSS domains.
Translate business and operational requirements into scalable solutions using AI technologies, workflow orchestration, APIs, agentic workflows, and reusable automation services.
Partner with architecture, engineering, security, data, operations, and vendor teams to drive successful delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement of AI automation capabilities.
Establish and champion engineering best practices including test-driven development, responsible AI principles, observability, governance, and operational readiness.
Experience leading technology, automation, software engineering, OSS, integration, or AI-driven solution delivery initiatives within complex enterprise environments.
Strong technical expertise across APIs, workflow orchestration, cloud-based architectures, CI/CD practices, and modern software engineering methodologies.
Hands-on experience with AI technologies including LLM integrations, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and responsible AI frameworks.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams, influence senior leaders, and translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
