Acusensus Australia is seeking an AI Architect to bridge business needs and engineering excellence. You will review AI tools, ensure secure and scalable architectures, and integrate AI solutions across internal systems while maintaining governance and compliance.
The role requires hands-on experience with multi‑agent AI solutions, cloud AI services, and strong API and enterprise integration skills. A Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent experience is expected.
Acusensus pioneers intelligent road safety enforcement solutions that can be rapidly deployed to address road safety challenges. Our mission is changing behaviours, saving lives. Founded in 2018, we combine advanced AI and hardware technology in fixed-location, trailer-based and vehicle-based enforcement solutions. They are used by governments across Australia, the US, the UK and New Zealand to tackle dangerous driver behaviour. We’re a global team with some of the best (and smartest) people on the planet, and we solve hard problems together.
AI adoption is strong at Acusensus, and the team is experimenting with building tools, automations and agents. As our AI Architect, you’ll make sure those solutions are secure, connected, documented and built to last. You’ll be the bridge between what the business needs and what good engineering looks like.
You’re a technically rigorous AI builder who loves making complex things simple for others, and who knows when good enough is good enough.
Hands‑on experience building multi‑agent bots or AI solutions using LLM APIs, automation platforms (such as n8n, Make or Power Automate) or ML frameworks
A solid grounding in software architecture, API design and enterprise integration patterns
Working knowledge of cybersecurity as it applies to AI, including data privacy, prompt injection and access controls
Experience reviewing and guiding work from non‑technical or less experienced colleagues
Familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP and their AI/ML services
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field, or at least 5 years of equivalent experience
Experience with data governance frameworks and responsible AI principles is highly regarded.
Exposure to OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS or NIST AI RMF is highly regarded.
This is a hybrid role based in Melbourne or Sydney. Because we operate globally, you may occasionally work early mornings, evenings or weekends, and travel nationally at short notice. The role requires police and driving history checks.
Lead the safe adoption of AI
You’ll be the technical authority on how internal AI tools and agents are built, secured and run across the business. Solutions will be built right the first time, not retrofitted later.
Architecture with real breadth
You’ll work across LLM APIs, automation platforms, cloud AI services and enterprise integration. You’ll shape standards, own the AI asset register and set up the vendor assessment process.
Enable people, not just govern them
You’ll partner with AI Champions in every business unit and help non‑technical builders get unstuck. The aim is to protect the business without slowing down its pace of innovation.
