Job summary

Heidelberg Materials Australia Pty Ltd in Wangaratta, VIC is seeking a Batch & Drive Operator to join our concrete plant team. You will split time between operating the batch plant and delivering concrete to customers, with a focus on safety and quality while supporting customer service across the region.

The role offers hands-on training, regular overtime, and a clear path to develop skills in batching, logistics, and plant operations, including FEL loading and vehicle delivery responsibilities.

Qualifications

• A valid HR Licence is required.
• White Card or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a physical environment.
• Flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee the day-to-day running of the concrete batch plant.
• Load materials using a Front End Loader (FEL).
• Communicate with customers, take orders and coordinate deliveries.

Batch & Drive Operator - Wangaratta

Join Heidelberg Materials Australia at our Wangaratta Concrete Plant. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Batch & Drive Operator based in Wangaratta, VIC. This hands‑on role offers the opportunity to develop your skills across concrete batching, logistics, customer service, plant operations and driving. You'll split your time between operating the batch plant and delivering concrete to customers, making every day varied and rewarding.

About the Role

• Operate and oversee the day‑to‑day running of the concrete batch plant


• Load materials using a Front End Loader (FEL)


• Communicate with customers, take orders and coordinate deliveries


• Monitor plant and equipment performance and arrange maintenance as required


• Ensure all products meet quality specifications


• Support a strong safety culture and adhere to Zero Harm principles


• Work closely with the wider Heidelberg Materials team to deliver exceptional customer service


• Deliver concrete to customers throughout the region (HR Licence required)

About You

• A valid HR Licence


• Strong communication and customer service skills


• The ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Experience operating a Front End Loader (advantageous)


• A commitment to workplace safety


• A White Card (or willingness to obtain one)


• Flexibility to work overtime and rostered Saturday shifts


• The physical capability to perform the duties associated with the role
