Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is hiring drivers for its Adelaide plants. Positions are available as permanent and casual. The base rate is $30.75 per hour for permanent staff, plus a 25% premium for casual workers.

Your responsibilities will include operating semi‑agitator trucks, delivering concrete and other products, and maintaining truck appearance. Successful candidates must pass pre-employment medical tests and be willing to work early mornings and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Valid HR driver licence required; driving experience preferred.
• Must have full Australian work rights.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and random drug/alcohol tests.
• Comfortable interacting with diverse customers.
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and overtime.

Position Overview

Heidelberg Materials is hiring drivers for its Adelaide plants (Lonsdale, Port Adelaide, Magill, Smithfield). Positions are available as permanent and casual. The base rate is $30.75 per hour for permanent staff and a 25% premium for casual workers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate semi‑agitator trucks, delivering concrete, aggregates, road base, sand and asphalt products. Shift starts between 4:00–6:30a.m., with drivers able to work up to 10hours per day and around 50–55hours per week.
• Work overtime with pay at time and a half for the first two hours after the regular shift, and double time thereafter.
• Maintain truck appearance, ensuring it is clean and presents a positive image of the company.
• Use cutting‑edge technology for route mapping and load tracking.
• Complete a 10‑day training program before acquiring independent operating status.
• Provide customer service on the road, interacting with a variety of customers.
• Pass a pre‑employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing, and be able to undergo random testing.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid HR driver licence (minimum). Previous driving experience is preferred.
• Full Australian work rights.
