Job summary

Hope & Care Community Services is seeking compassionate support workers for S.I.L shifts in Coorparoo and Macgregor to assist individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Autism on Brisbane's southside.

Roles include providing routine-based support, implementing PBSPs, dietary management, and collaboration with families and health professionals. Night and sleepover shifts are required, with open driver’s license and transportation preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and/or Autism.
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
• Ability to follow strict dietary protocols and participant-specific plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured, routine-based support tailored to individuals with PWS and Autism.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and PBSPs with training as needed.
• Assist with activities of daily living, meal preparation, and dietary management.
• Monitor sensory regulation needs and support community participation.
• Document progress notes and incident reports accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with families and allied health professionals to ensure person-centred care.
• Adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct at all times.

  About the Role

  We are seeking compassionate and experienced support workers with a strong background in assisting individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and Autism to join our team on Brisbanes Southside S.I.L Houses in Macgregor and Coorparoo.

  Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or other relevant qualifications is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience supporting individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and/or Autism is highly valued.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and experience in implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
  • Ability to follow strict dietary protocols and manage food security for individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to participant-specific support plans.
  • \"NDIS Worker Screening Check\" is required prior to commencement.
  • Availability for a minimum of 23 shifts per week, including nights and sleepover shifts.
  • Open drivers license and own transportation.
