Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) in Garran | Ozanam is seeking a dedicated Support Service Employee to join the housekeeping team. The Full-Time, fixed-term role covers cleaning, kitchen, and laundry duties within a residential aged care facility, focusing on café service and morning/afternoon tea for residents.

The role requires a compassionate, team-oriented approach and adherence to food safety, hygiene and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role (laundry or cleaning will be highly regarded).
• Genuine compassion, commitment and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work well in a team; empathy towards the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, professional, and attentive service to all residents, families, staff and visitors.
• Engage respectfully with older adults, understanding their unique preferences and needs.
• Ensure all fellow staff are committed to serving quality food and courteous service to our residents.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
• Assist with full range of domestic duties including cleaning, kitchen and food preparation.
• Be responsible for the general cleanliness of the kitchen, including all appliances, storage areas, work benches and floors.
• Performing laundry duties to support the smooth running of the facility.
• Ad hoc duties in and around the facility, supporting the residents and staff.
