Job summary

The United Protestant Association of NSW Limited (UPA) is seeking a Recreational Activities Officer at Rathgar Lodge in the North Coast region. This casual, weekend-inclusive role focuses on delivering engaging social, recreational and cultural activities to residents to enhance wellbeing.

You will drive participation, support mental health initiatives, and document outcomes while fostering independence and community connection for clients in care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle.
• Previous experience within an aged care setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes.
• Computer skills in Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and lead activities meeting social and recreational needs for residents.
• Assess and document program effectiveness, tracking progress and adjusting as needed.
• Promote independence and quality of life through engaging activities.
• Support mental health and wellbeing programs for residents and their families.
