Job summary

UPA is seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join Prunus Lodge in the Central West Region. The role requires hands-on cooking and kitchen duties with weekend availability to support residents and the care team.

You will prepare fresh meals, assist with table service and clearing, and uphold HACCP-based Food Safety Standards in a fast-paced aged-care kitchen. Excellent communication, reliability and a team approach are essential in our values-driven not-for-profit environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, preparation and cooking fresh meals
• Experience in table service and clearing duties
• Experience in fast-paced kitchen or bulk food preparation (desirable)
• Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Standards
• Experience in Aged Care desirable
• Current First Aid Certificate desirable
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player with flexibility to work various shifts

Responsibilities

• Cook and provide meals to residents in a high standard
• Maintain quality of food service within the facility
• Work in a fast-paced kitchen and/or bulk food preparation
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety Standards to HACCP level
