Job summary

Hall & Prior Health and Aged Care Group is seeking a Kitchen Hand for our 45-bed Shangri-La aged care home in Hurstville. The role supports nutritious meals and a positive dining experience for residents, working 2pm–8pm from Wednesday to Friday.

You will assist with food preparation, maintain hygiene, and deliver respectful customer service as part of a friendly, collaborative team in residential aged care.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Kitchen Hand in residential aged care.
• Understanding of texture modified foods.
• Organised, able to work in a busy kitchen and meet deadlines, and strong customer service skills.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Influenza vaccination (or willing to obtain).
• Working rights in Australia (sponsorship will not be offered).

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation of nutritious meals that meet individual dietary needs.
• Support smooth kitchen operations to ensure residents have a positive dining experience.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic environment through cleaning and safe food storage.
• Assist with food service while providing respectful and efficient customer service.
• Contribute to a friendly, collaborative kitchen team.
