Job summary

Royal Freemasons Ltd in Mount Martha, Victoria, seeks casual Housekeeping and Laundry Assistants to join our welcoming aged care team. You will help create a clean, safe home that supports resident comfort, dignity and wellbeing.

Responsibilities include cleaning and laundry duties across common areas and rooms, following infection control practices, and working with a friendly, resident-centred team. A current NDIS/Police check is mandatory and vaccinations are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience in Housekeeping and Laundry in aged care
• Genuine empathy for older people and a positive, uplifting attitude
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or Police Check (Mandatory)
• COVID‑19 and annual Influenza vaccinations highly encouraged

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across resident rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, laundry areas and communal spaces
• Complete daily cleaning tasks using the electronic cleaning system and follow cleaning schedules
• Perform floor, carpet, bathroom, and general cleaning duties with infection control practices
• Ensure compliance with OH&S requirements, accreditation standards, and infection prevention protocols
• Safely handle, use, store, and monitor cleaning chemicals and supplies, maintaining stock levels

The Opportunity

We are seeking dedicated Housekeeping and Laundry Assistants to join our team at Mount Martha Aged Care Facility on a casual basis.

In this important role, you will help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that enhances the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of our residents. Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and laundry services throughout the home.

You will be part of a warm, resident-centred community, building positive connections with older people, including those living with dementia, illness, or disability, while helping to ensure they feel valued, respected, and at home.

Your Responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across resident rooms, bathrooms, kitchens,
• laundry areas, and communal spaces in accordance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
  
• Complete daily cleaning tasks using the electronic cleaning system (tablet) and follow all cleaning schedules and procedures.
  
• Perform floor, carpet, bathroom, and general cleaning duties using appropriate equipment and infection control practices.
  
• Ensure compliance with OH&S requirements, accreditation standards, and infection prevention protocols, including the use of colour-coded cleaning equipment.
  
• Safely handle, use, store, and monitor cleaning chemicals and supplies, maintaining adequate stock levels at all times.
  
• Replenish consumables, maintain cleaning equipment and trolleys, and support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
