Job summary

cmr is seeking General Practitioners to support aged care residents across New South Wales with a mix of telehealth and scheduled face-to-face visits. VR GPs based in or near the listed regions are preferred to minimise travel, with roughly one onsite day per month per site as operationally suitable.

Qualifications

• VR with ability to practise independently, including unrestricted registration or moratorium-restricted registration.
• Experience or interest in aged care, residential medicine or care for older patients.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication and documentation skills.
• Confidence conducting consultations via telehealth.
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Availability for regular weekly sessions.
• Located within reasonable travelling distance of allocated facilities with willingness to attend onsite visits as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing medical care to aged care residents through telehealth and scheduled facility visits.
• Conduct telehealth consultations with a high-volume patient load per day based on facility needs.
• Review and contribute to health assessments and medication management for new residents.
• Complete annual health assessment reviews for existing residents.
• Provide regular consultations, follow-ups and general medical reviews.
• Manage prescriptions, review results and address ongoing medical needs.
• Identify and follow up on pending investigations and clinical results.
• Conduct face-to-face resident assessments, introductions and clinical reviews.
• Complete and sign required clinical documentation and communicate with nursing staff.
