Job summary

Mission Australia in Sydney's Surry Hills is seeking a Cleaner for a permanent full-time role (38 hours/week). You will maintain high cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the aged care home, with a Monday–Friday daytime roster from 6:30am to 2:36pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality, aged care, healthcare or a similar environment.
• A strong eye for detail and pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• A reliable and positive approach to work, with a commitment to quality outcomes.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, respectful approach to working with others.
• Physically capable of performing manual tasks including bending, lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.

Responsibilities

• Help create a clean, comfortable and welcoming home environment for residents.
• Keep resident rooms, shared spaces and facilities clean, tidy and well presented.
• Use cleaning equipment and products safely and follow hygiene and infection control practices.
• Work respectfully around residents, ensuring their comfort and privacy are always maintained.
• Support a safe environment by reporting maintenance issues, hazards and areas for improvement.
• Complete basic cleaning records and documentation as required.
• Work closely with colleagues to deliver a positive experience for residents, visitors and staff.
