Infrastructure Advisory Group DNS, Canberra, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with an aerospace background to develop software specifications for a major Defence aerospace capability. You will research applicable standards, draft functional and performance specs, and prepare documents for market, tenders and forums with operators and delivery agents.

The role requires onsite work, a current NV1 clearance, and the ability to manage risk and complex issues.

Qualifications

• Aerospace engineering background.
• Extensive systems engineering experience, incl. software integration and maintenance.
• Experience developing software specifications and technical documentation in Defence.
• Experience in Defence capability development and acquisition, incl. procurement and contracting.
• Knowledge of Defence documentation standards and ASDEFCON.
• High-level Defence and technical writing skills.
• Experience in programming or software development, and with simulation software.
• Experience in data analytics.
• Degree in a relevant discipline is highly regarded.

Responsabilités

• Develop high-quality, traceable software functional and performance specifications for the capability's systems, training solutions and interfaces.
• Research the standards relevant to the project and complete specifications for software, standards and maintenance.
• Draft ASDEFCON Data Item Descriptions.
• Populate and maintain a systems engineering database.
• Evaluate and report on tenders, and conduct vendor requirements reviews.
• Take part in commercial activities.
• Represent the project at forums with operators, delivery agents and other stakeholders, and present verbal and written reports to committees and boards.
• Apply strategic guidance and manage capability risks and complex issues to achieve outcomes.
