Job summary

ACCIONA CONSTRUCTION AUSTRALIA PTY LTD is recruiting for a Sustainability professional to own data, monitoring and reporting across a major rail project in Brisbane. You will work with delivery, design, procurement and project teams to integrate sustainability into design and construction.

You will audit performance against ISC and Green Star standards, guide carbon and resource efficiency measures, and represent the project with communities and the client.

Qualifications

• Degree in sustainability, architecture, engineering or science.
• Construction industry experience in a sustainability-focused role.
• Knowledge of sustainability legislation and the ISC Rating Scheme.
• Carbon reduction, data analysis and technical reporting skills.
• Lead auditor training and/or experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned to project objectives.
• Embed sustainability in design and construction with project teams.
• Monitor and report sustainability performance, compliance and financial value.
• Identify and implement carbon, waste and resource efficiency opportunities.

Job Description

• Own sustainability reporting and strategy on a major rail project
• Embed sustainability across key design milestones and delivery

Project Information:

The Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project will double the number of rail tracks on a 20 kilometre section of the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines, between Kuraby and Beenleigh. Works include station upgrades with new pedestrian bridges, level crossing removals and a new multi-storey carpark at Beenleigh. The corridor will connect people and places across South East Queensland.

About the Opportunity:

You will report to the Sustainability Lead and own sustainability data, monitoring and reporting across the project. Work with delivery, design, procurement and project teams to build sustainability into design and construction, and guide carbon and resource efficiency measures. You will audit performance, align the project with standards such as ISC and Green Star, and represent it with community groups, the client and key stakeholders. This role offers autonomy, exposure across design and construction and a clear view of how sustainable outcomes get built into major rail infrastructure.

Required Skills and Competencies

What capability and experience will you need to have:

• Degree in sustainability, architecture, engineering or science

• Carbon reduction, data analysis and technical reporting skills
• Preferred: lead auditor training and/or experience
