Otraco seeks a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to provide professional HSE guidance to operational management from our Head Office in Perth, Kewdale, on a full-time permanent basis. The role focuses on enabling a safe work environment with initiatives and strong safety awareness across sites.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years’ mining sector experience with a Cert IV in OHS/E WHS, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in incident investigations and IMS alignment.

Competenze

• 3–5 years’ experience in mining sector.
• Cert IV in OHS/E WHS is essential.
• Experience in the Mining Industry preferred.
• Competent computer user with safety databases, spreadsheets and word processing tools.
• Excellent written and spoken communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience with ICAM investigations or similar incident-investigation methodology.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and legislative requirements.
• Commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental excellence.
• Ability to support operational sites in HSE management and IMS implementation.

Mansioni

• Liaise with Manager, Operations Manager and Regional Superintendents on HSE issues.
• Advise and assist line management to ensure safety systems and processes meet requirements.
• Attend and contribute to HSET meetings and inspections to improve performance.
• Perform HSE audits across nominated sites and follow up as required.
• Report incidents, hazards, unsafe conditions and equipment immediately.
• Support the implementation/use of the Integrated Management System (IMS).

As a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor, you will provide professional advice and support to operational management to assist in the attainment of a safe work environment. This person will possess initiative and drive, along with a high level of safety awareness. This role will be based in Kewdale at our Head Office, Perth on a full-time permanent contract, working Monday to Friday in the office.

To provide professional Health and Safety advice and support to operational management to assist in the attainment of a safe work environment. This person will possess initiative and drive, along with a high level of safety awareness. Specifically, the role is accountable for:

• Liaise with the Manager, Operations Manager and Regional Superintendents regarding all Health and Safety related issues.

• Advise and assist line management in ensuring that all Health and Safety systems and work processes are present on sites and are consistent with Company, client and relevant statutory requirements.
• Attend and contribute to HSET meetings and inspections in order to improve performance in the workplace.
• Responsible for performing Health and Safety audits across nominated sites and assist with follow-up actions as required.
• Report all incidents, hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment immediately.
• Able to follow and support Company and Client Health and Safety Management systems.

About You

Ideally you will have 3-5 years’ experience in the mining sector

The ideal candidate will hold:

• Cert IV (or similar) in OHS/E / WHS is essential

• Previous experience in the Mining Industry.

• Competent computer user familiar with safety data bases, spreadsheets and word processing packages.

• Excellent communication (written and oral) and facilitating skills

• Demonstrated experience in ICAM investigations or similar incident investigation methodology

• Strong understanding of workplace safety and legislative requirements

• Commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental excellence

• Ability to support operational sites in Health and Safety management, and the implementation / use of the Integrated Management System (IMS).

• Ability and commitment to work as an effective team member.

• Ability to meet ongoing agreed KPI targets.

• High standard of accuracy and timeliness
