Award/Classification: Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award, General Stream, Band 2. Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum. Employment type: Full Time. Region: South. Location: 22 Elizabeth Street, Hobart.

The Team

The Office of the Chief Risk Officer (OCRO) leads risk, safety, quality, and assurance functions across the Department of Health. Based at 22 Elizabeth Street in Hobart, the OCRO is a collaborative team guided by CARE values — Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. The team works to improve the health and wellbeing of all Tasmanians as part of a unified health system.

The Role

Administrative Assistant — you will provide essential administrative and clerical support to staff and clients at 22 Elizabeth Street, under the direction of the OCRO. You will be the receptionist for 22 Elizabeth Street, the first point of contact for visitors and telephone enquiries, and you will manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholder interactions with professionalism and discretion. Responsibilities include managing emails and enquiries, coordinating bookings and deliveries, maintaining electronic records, and supporting various administrative processes. You will work closely with a collaborative team to contribute to quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives across the OCRO.

You will need to
  • Provide frontline and telephone reception service, responding to in-person and telephone enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, and refer queries to the DoH or OCRO as appropriate.
  • Monitor and respond to reception mailboxes and general DoH/OCRO enquiries, referring non-standard or complex queries to the relevant staff.
  • Undertake general administrative duties including mail processing, photocopying and scanning, document collation and distribution, filing, and routine office ordering and processing tasks.

Details of appointment

Permanent full-time, day worker position, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that for twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum. Employer superannuation contribution (12%) is in addition to this amount.
