Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District in Hay, NSW, is seeking an Administration Officer – Level 3 for permanent part-time and casual positions.

This role delivers high quality customer service, handles admissions, transfers and discharges, uses Microsoft Office, maintains records, and works with a multidisciplinary team. Applications close 23 September 2026.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality customer service to patients, staff and the public.
  • Perform clerical tasks, admissions, transfers and discharges.
  • Manage records, correspondence, appointments and stores.
  • Support the team and relief for other staff as needed.

  • Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality.

  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time (3 shifts per fortnight) and Casual Positions

Position Classification: Administration Officer – Level 3

Remuneration: $73,915.12– $76,218.80 per annum, pro-rata (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)

Location: Hay

About the Opportunity
  • Providing high quality customer service to patients, employees and members of the public, including responding respectfully and helpfully to all face-to-face and telephone enquiries.
  • Completing a range of operational, clerical and administrative tasks using the Microsoft Suite of applications (including Excel and Teams) to support the smooth running of the department, including assisting with admissions, transfers and discharges, record management, booking services and appointments, managing correspondence, filing, typing, deliveries, pickups, purchasing and stores management.
  • Providing assistance with more complex tasks or projects, and providing relief for other staff as required, to support efficiency and quality within the service and team.
  • Planning and preparing appointments and communicating clearly with the team leader daily.
  • Performing according to established work practices and procedures, working under general instruction and broad supervision.
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility, initiative and a commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Experience working in a similar support role in a complex organisation, as an effective and collaborative team member.
  • Sound judgement in making decisions about work priorities, achieving key tasks effectively in a busy work area.
  • Effective communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders, including managers, colleagues and members of the public, with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated high-level computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft and Windows-based applications, email systems, and/or other information and record-keeping systems.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, providing excellent customer service, including the maintenance of patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative with known work procedures, and the ability to work effectively under broad supervision.
  • National Police Check
