Job description

Looking for a hands-on role where your work has a real impact?
Join the fight to protect our communities and environment! The National Fire Ant Eradication Program is on a mission to eliminate one of Australia's most invasive pests - the fire ant. These destructive pests pose a serious threat to our way of life, and we need passionate and dedicated individuals to help us stop them in their tracks. Be part of a team making a real difference for Queensland's future. Together, we can protect our homes, wildlife, and industries. Join us today and help eradicate fire ants for good.

Get out in the field and put your technical skills into practice, undertaking surveillance, sampling, treatment and scientific activities to help protect Queensland from fire ants.

As an Administration Officer (Dispatch) you will:
  • Provide accurate and timely administrative support to operational activities.
  • Create and manage appointments and bookings for treatment and surveillance activities.
  • Review, update and maintain data to ensure records are accurate and reliable.
  • Export, review and organise reports and operational data to support management decision-making.
  • Respond to enquiries and deliver professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use problem-solving skills to manage changing priorities, deadlines and non routine requests.
  • Learn and confidently use relevant information systems and databases.
  • Support system testing, troubleshooting and improvements to operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the way administrative and operational activities are delivered.
  • Share your knowledge and provide support or guidance to newer team members.

We're looking for people who can bring strong transferable administration, data and coordination skills to the team.

You’ll be well suited to this role if you:
  • Have strong administration, data entry or operational support skills.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and take pride in getting information right.
  • Are comfortable learning and working across different systems and databases.
  • Can organise your workload and manage competing priorities.
  • Use initiative and practical problem-solving to get things done.
  • Communicate confidently and provide professional customer service.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Are open to learning new processes, systems and ways of working.

There are no mandatory qualifications for this position, however practical knowledge of ArcGIS or ArcPro will be favourably regarded.

Put your administration skills at the heart of meaningful operational work.

Join a team where your organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving skills help keep important operations moving. You'll play a key behind-the-scenes role, ensuring our teams have the accurate information, data and administrative support they need to deliver treatment and surveillance activities.

If you enjoy keeping things organised, solving problems and being part of a busy operational team, this could be the opportunity for you.
