Job summary

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Ward/Administration Clerk to be the first point of contact for patients, families and visitors. You will support reception, maintain accurate patient records and coordinate communications to keep the ward running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support, maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Deliver a professional, welcoming and patient-focused service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
  • Support patient admissions, discharges and transfers in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Liaise with clinical, support and hospital teams, as well as patients and families, to facilitate effective communication.
  • Coordinate reception and administrative activities to support the smooth and efficient operation of the ward.

About the role

As a Ward Clerk, you’ll be an important first point of contact for patients, families and visitors, providing a welcoming, professional and caring service. You’ll play a key role in keeping the ward running smoothly, supporting reception and clerical functions, coordinating communication and managing patient movements.

Your attention to detail will help ensure patient records are accurate and up to date, while your communication and organisational skills will support the flow of information across the ward.
