Job description

Position: Admin Assistant
Remuneration: $37.65 per hour
Hours: 35 per week
Date: 7 November 2024

The AMWU (Queensland/Northern Territory Branch) is looking for a dynamic person to join our Admin Team. This is a permanent position located in our Brisbane Office.

Duties will include:
• Administrative support for conferences and events
• Travel and accommodation bookings
• Research on the internet
• Electronic Filing
• Maintenance of spread sheets and databases
• Membership inquiries and membership database use
• Member engagement
• Any other administrative or membership tasks as directed

Selection Criteria
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail and strong ‘member focus’ in all areas of work
• Strong customer service skills with an excellent phone manner
• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to prioritise work flow and be highly organised
• Appreciation of union principles and have a genuine interest in Unions
• Able to prioritise competing work priorities
• Proficient at data entry
• Competent team player
