Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Actuarial Analyst to join our client’s team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on pricing, reserving, and financial modeling to support strategic decisions and ensure solvency and profitability.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, is progressing with actuarial examinations (SOA or IFoA), and demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills with proficiency in R, Python, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Progress towards actuarial examinations (SOA, IFoA) is essential.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented with ethical conduct in financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and forecasting.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, assess risks, and inform business strategy.
• Assist in the valuation of liabilities and the assessment of capital requirements.
• Support development and refinement of insurance products based on actuarial insights.
• Prepare actuarial reports and present findings to management and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and finance on actuarial matters.
