Seymour College is a leading independent girls’ school renowned for academic excellence and a commitment to holistic student development. The Senior Years Pastoral Care Leader (Clan Guardian) role combines pastoral leadership with teaching duties during Term 1 2027 to Term 3 2027.

You will partner with homegroup teachers to coordinate wellbeing initiatives, support student engagement and nurture Clan culture across Years 10–12, while modelling professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading pastoral care, wellbeing or student development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and wellbeing practices.
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to mentor, coach and inspire both students and colleagues.
• Sound judgement, empathy and confidentiality in sensitive situations.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build strong pastoral relationships with students in Years 10-12 and support their wellbeing, personal growth and engagement.
• Lead and implement wellbeing and pastoral care programs that respond to the needs of individual students and year levels.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, counsellors and College leaders to support student outcomes.
• Mentor student leaders and oversee Clan activities, meetings and community-building initiatives.
• Support student transitions, orientation programs and leadership development opportunities.
• Lead Clan events and contribute to key College activities including sporting and community events.
• Maintain accurate pastoral records and manage administrative requirements associated with student care and wellbeing.
