Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a national logistics and services group to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager in Brisbane, QLD. Based at a modern Eagle Farm head office, this is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a high-performing AP function within a fast-moving operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the accounts payable team.
• Oversee day-to-day AP activities across weekly and monthly payment cycles.
• Ensure timely and accurate supplier and contractor payments.
• Maintain integrity of supplier data and oversee reconciliations.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies and audit standards.
• Manage period-end activities including accruals.
• Act as SME for AP systems, driving efficiency and best practice.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations and Procurement.
• Produce AP performance reports and metrics.
• Participate in system upgrades and finance projects.

Job Description

The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for:

• Leading and coaching the accounts payable team
• Overseeing day-to-day AP activities across weekly and monthly payment cycles
• Ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier, contractor and third-party payments
• Maintaining integrity of supplier data and oversee routine balance reconciliations
• Monitoring compliance with internal policies, approval frameworks and audit standards
• Managing period-end activities including operational accruals
• Acting as the go-to subject matter expert for AP systems, driving efficiency and best practice
• Building strong working relationships across Finance, Operations and Procurement
• Serving as an escalation point for complex or sensitive supplier queries
• Delivering responsive, professional service aligned with agreed service standards
• Producing regular AP performance reports and operational metrics
• Contributing to system upgrades, workflow improvements and finance projects
• Participating in continuous improvement forums and cross-functional initiatives

The Successful Applicant

The successful Accounts Payable Manager should have:

• Proven experience leading Accounts Payable teams in a high-volume environment
• Confident people leader with strong coaching and engagement skills
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and controls
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
• Strong communicator capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels
• Systems-savvy with solid Microsoft Office skills and an improvement mindset
• Formal qualification in Finance or Accounting (highly desirable)
