Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting an experienced Accounts Payable Manager for their Brisbane-based head office. This hands-on leadership role oversees a high-performing AP function in a fast-moving logistics and services operation, with hybrid working options after probation.

You will lead and coach the AP team, ensure timely supplier payments, maintain data integrity, and drive process improvement across the AP lifecycle, while partnering with Finance, Operations and Procurement to meet service

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Accounts Payable teams in a high-volume environment.
• Strong coaching and engagement skills.
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and controls.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong communicator capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Systems-savvy with MS Office and AP software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the accounts payable team.
• Oversee day‑to‑day AP activities across weekly and monthly payment cycles.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier, contractor and third‑party payments.
• Maintain integrity of supplier data and oversee routine balance reconciliations.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies, approval frameworks and audit standards.
• Manage period-end activities including operational accruals.
• Act as the go‑to subject matter expert for AP systems, driving efficiency and best practice.
• Build strong working relationships across Finance, Operations and Procurement.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex or sensitive supplier queries.
• Deliver responsive, professional service aligned with agreed service standards.
• Produce regular AP performance reports and operational metrics.
• Contribute to system upgrades, workflow improvements and finance projects.
• Participate in continuous improvement forums and cross‑functional initiatives.

• Formal qualification in Finance or Accounting (highly desirable)
