Job description

Blue Mountains Grammar School is seeking an Accounts Assistant to work alongside our Accountant & Business Manager. This part-time position is 5 hours per day (flexible) from Monday to Friday.

Joining a collaborative team with a down-to-earth friendly feel, and reporting to an experienced and supportive Business Manager, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and will be the primary contact for all accounts payable and receivable matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day support to the Accountant and Business Manager
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments, claims, reconciliations, uCollect, BPays, statements, and queries
  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Preparing budget and financial reports
  • Managing overdue accounts with a relationship-focused approach
  • Assisting with month-end tasks as required
About You
  • Demonstrated administrative or bookkeeping experience
  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Outlook, Excel, and Teams
  • Experience with Xero and Sentral (nice to have)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • A current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) or the ability to obtain one
