Job summary

LJC Accounting in the Southern Highlands, NSW, is seeking an Accountant or experienced Bookkeeper for a full or part-time on-site role. You will deliver high-quality client-focused accounting services to a diverse client base.

Responsibilities include preparing tax returns, providing planning and business advice, and assisting with financial statements. The ideal candidate has 1–5 years' experience, strong communication, and proficiency with Xero, MYOB, BGL and Handisoft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 1–5 years' experience as Accountant or Bookkeeper, preferably in public practice.
• Understanding of Australian tax legislation such as CGT, GST and BAS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with clients.
• Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, BGL and Handisoft.
• Proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and lodging tax returns for individuals, Self-Managed Superfunds and business clients
• Providing taxation planning, small business advice and strategic guidance
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Collaborating with clients to understand their unique financial needs and objectives
• Maintaining detailed client records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
